Hi there, I am a psychotherapist with a goal to make mental health practical and affordable for my clients.
I am a trauma, neurodivergent & queer afirmative therapist, practicing modern evidence based therapies which are designed to be collaborative, short term and practical.
In school I had undiagnosed learning disability (dyslexia + dysgraphia) which ultimately led me to have poor marks and drop out of college in 2015. I started working but I had no direction because I couldn't study and do I wanted to. This caused me to experience mental health troubles with severe consequences. I stumbled upon Mindfulness practice (which is a key part of modern psychotherapies) and this helped me tremendously. I found my passion in mental health and decided to study all over again, this time armed with awareness, help and resilience.
Since my childhood I have always wanted to that which is most meaningful. As a child I thought theoretical physics was most meaningful because it gave the opportunity to explain all causes and effects in the universe. However, after my experience of poor mental health, it became clear to me that if a person is not happy, nothing matters. The mind is the final frontier of all our experiences. Alarmed and driven by the massive amount of mental suffering there is, I considered it personally very meaningful to work as a mental health professional.
Neurodivergent is a term that describes people whose brains develop or work differently for some reason from what is considered standard or typical. This means the person has different strengths and struggles from people whose brains develop or work more typically. Describing someone as neurodivergent acknowledges that they’re “differently abled.” Neurodiversity means it’s natural for both the adult and the child to develop differently and have their own abilities and struggles. In my own case, dyslexia and dysgraphia makes me work differently from most people. I bring this sensitivity of neurodiversity with me in the therapy sessions for clients.
I practice modern evidence based therapies which are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Know more about my therapies here.
